RHS Winners



Chris Beardshaw's magnificent Cheshire Garden won Best in Show and deservedly so! His 'Arleyesque' Central garden, had four 'supporters'on a 'back to back' basis -Tatton (Gold Medal), Arley (Silver Medal), Ness (Gold Medal) and Chester Zoo (Silver Gilt).



Record Entry

In a record entry to the Cheshire Passport competiton there were two major passport prizes and five bonus prizes of Family Tickets to Chester Zoo

A delightful summer surprise for Mrs Margaret Penaluna from Willaston was a trip to The Palms at Stapeley Water Gardens on Wednesday 23rd July to collect her Cheshire Passport - worth over £450-from Palms Assistant Manager, Ms Michelle Kelly. With her were grandchildren Jack (12) and Ruby (9) - who no doubt will be happy to visit some of the wonderful Cheshire attractions with their Gran!

The other major award is to Ms Judith Wylde from Port Sunlight. The Zoo tickets were won by Mr R J Keen from Oldham, Ms Judith McKay &Thomas Wardle from Stockport, Ms Marilyn Beesley from Conwy. Mrs Sharon Readon from Heswall and Mrs Julia Dutton from Penketh, Warrington.




The second Favourite Days out in Cheshire award - worth £450 - was award to Ms Judith Wylde from Port Sunlight (left) presented by Assistant Supervisor Camella Cotton of the Sunlight Museum and Village Trust (right). Between them is the very special Superlambanana!

Favourite Days out in Cheshire were recognised with the Bronze Award in the
Tourist Team of the Year award at the Cheshire Awards for Tourism Skills (CATS) 2006, held at Tatton Park. 'A sterling effort by the team fromn our eighteen attractions' said Dr Joanna Sharples, Consortium Chairman. 'Remember that Victoria Crosses are also Bronze awards'



Contemporary Art comes to Tatton Park this summer. The first Tatton Park Biennial, staged in Tatton's historic gardens and grounds, sees 30 artists, writers and performers developing new work inspired by the plant collections themselves. Workshops, performances, events, tours and a film programme will take place throughout the Biennial.
