Picture shows members of Tatton's team celebrating the two faces of the leaflet - on the left, Lisa Kennedy with the piglet has the Family Fun side - whilst Jean Waite (rt) one of the costume volunteers in the Mansion - shows the Gardens and Heritage side!

Times may be tough - but the top Cheshire tourist attractions are fighting back
with their strongest ever campaign to build business through promotional
offers and exciting competitions that run all through the season.

Jules Burgess-Wilson, who is the Director of Catalyst Science Discovery Centre leads the Favourite Days Out in Cheshire independent tourism consortium in their fight for business in 2009. 'We have just launched the 36 page 2009 booklet gives details of over fifty attractions, a valuable map, a £1,000 prize competition and three pages of coupons that save over £150 - it's our best and strongest to date - and it has been designed and printed in Cheshire too - so we are supporting local industry'.

Two front covers suit everyone!
Jules added 'So that every attraction could have their picture on the cover - we've designed the leaflet to have one over for Family Fun and Shopping - and the other for Gardens and Heritage! So whatever your tastes - we've got it covered!

The free booklet is available in Tourist Information Centres, Attractions, Libraries, and Information points across the region including the M56 Chester Motorway Services and Cheshire Oaks and can also be ordered via the website - see below. The valuable coupons can be downloaded from the website too.

Choice and Quality

'There's so much in the booklet' Jules Burgess- Wilson told us. 'We have great family attractions such as Chester Zoo, Blue Planet Aquarium and Gulliver's World. There are some of the finest gardens in Europe - Tatton, Arley and Ness and iconic locations such as Port Sunlight Village with its Museum and the Lady Lever Art Gallery. We've boats trips on the River Dee and the Shropshire Union Canal, the UK's top Shire Horse Centre at Cotebrook, Jodrell Bank Visitor Centre with the world's third largest steerable radio telescope and a energetic challenge in the trees of Delamere Forest on one of the UK's most popular Go Ape courses! There's our version of a 'white knuckle ride' on the Anderton Boat lift, specialist shops with fresh local produce, 4,000 years of history at Beeston and over 1,000 at Chester Cathedral. There really is something for everyone in the 36 pages of our booklet and handsome savings too.

Additional attractions
In particular having the Cheshire County Show, the Destination 49 group that links attractions, pubs, restaurants and attractions on the A49 through Delamere Forest and the seventeen Chester City attractions as members adds so much to our offering. We've even got Roman Soldiers as Chester guides! Virtually all the eligible members have the coveted Visit Britain Quality Marque'.

Meet us at the Shows

'We'll be working with the Visit Chester & Cheshire Tourism Board at the major shows in and around Cheshire with our displays all through the season with the booklets. We'll be proudly displaying the 2008 Team of the Year Commendation Award'.

SO MANY PLACES TO VISIT

Pictured left to right are Ms Catherine Lawton, Blue the Clydesdale, Ben Edwards and George Lawton holding the precious Cheshire Passport.

She is the first winner of a Cheshire Passport this year - family tickets or equivalent to 25 great attractions in the County - worth over £450. - in the competition organised by the Favourite Days out in Cheshire Tourist Consortium.

'I was looking for things for the family to do' she said - 'I found the Favourite Days out website - and so I entered the competition. I had the great news before Christmas, but we were on holiday, so my ten year old son George and I came to Tatton Park for the award today!

The tickets include Tatton Park, Chester Zoo, Jodrell Bank, Go Ape, Gulliver's World, The Salt Museum, Catalyst Science Discovery Centre, The Lady Lever Art Gallery, Blue Planet Aquarium, Arley Hall and Gardens, Cotebrook Shire Horses and the Old Fire Station Chocolate Shop in Tarporley! There are full details all these leading attractions on ww.cheshiredaysout.co.uk 'Now that George is ten - he can enjoy Go Ape this year' said Catherine.

Making the day memorable for Catherine and George was Ben Edwards - one of the Tatton Home Farm Assistants He gave a mini- tour of the farm,- introduced the latest litters of piglets, let George feed carrots to the pigs and then brought Blue, one of the Farm's Clydesdale horses to join the presentation!
