Frosty Hopes for a Warm Reception!
An adorable new donkey has been stirring things up in the stableyard at Tatton Park's Home Farm. Born on Christmas Eve at Damson Farm in Nantwich, Frosty has been brought to Home Farm to keep company with the Farm's two other donkeys, Dotty and Daisy. At only six months old Frosty has a lot to learn from the two elder stateswomen, who are both now in their dotage at around 25 years old. Lisa Kennedy, Farm Ranger commented "Frosty is already livening up the old ladies. She is really inquisitive and quite nosey and is following them both around all the time!". Frosty has gorgeous beige and cream colouring. She still has lots of 'baby fluff' and has a lovely circlet of fur around her face. She has already started learning some new skills. Farm staff have begun to walk her around on a halter and have been lifting up her feet to get her used to being handled by the farrier. At only four feet tall she is noticeably smaller than the other two donkeys. Frosty more than makes up for her pint sized proportions with her outgoing and cheeky character and is already a great hit with our visitors. Lisa commented "She seems keen to make friends with everyone! She has a really gorgeous face and will follow you around with her big, brown eyes". To celebrate the arrival of Frosty, the Farm is having a Donkey Party on Saturday 21st June. Visitors will be able to meet and groom the donkeys, paint a picture and children will be able to have their face painted for FREE. There have been lots of other new arrivals at the Farm over the past month including Blossom's new foal, Tabitha, two calves to Rosie and Poppy the Red Poll cows, a brood of new chicks for four farm hens and eleven Tamworth cross piglets to Lottie the Large Black sow. These are all looking forward to seeing new visitors and old friends at the Donkey Party. Donkey Party: Saturday 21st June 12pm-5pm (last entry 4pm) Farm is open Tuesday to Sunday 12pm-5pm (last entry 4pm) Single Attraction Entry: Adult £4, Child £2, Family £10 (2 adults and up to 3 children).
