Life at the Zoo
TV SERIES FOCUSES ON LIFE AT THE ZOO

TELEVISION viewers will be taken behind the scenes at one of the biggest zoos in the country - and all from the comfort of their armchairs.

Zoo Days, which gives an insight into the highs and lows of life at Chester Zoo, will be screened on Five from Monday October 8.

Narrated by award-winning actress Jane Horrocks, who shot to fame as Bubbles in Absolutely Fabulous, the series will introduce viewers and zoo visitors to another side of life at the 110-acre zoo.

The Zoo Days series, which features 18, half-hour programmes, was filmed on location at the zoo over 11 weeks by Granada Wild.

Ron Trickett, Series Producer, said: "Never work with children and animals, they say. Well, our production team has spent most of the summer filming children and no fewer than 7,000 animals - and they've loved every minute of it."

Viewers will be introduced to the keepers and vets at the zoo, meeting the animals and seeing their stories unfold.

"Producing Zoo Days has entailed a lot of hard work, but I can honestly say that thanks to the keepers and the staff it's been a privilege and a pleasure.

"I hope we've succeeded in capturing on screen just a little of the atmosphere that makes Chester Zoo special," added Ron.

Zoo Days will be broadcast Monday 8th - Wednesday 31st October, weekdays at 6.30pm on Five.
