By George, let's celebrate!
Tatton Park always casts a spell over its visitors but on the weekend of 19th and 20th April, there will be even more magic in the air than usual.

For this weekend marks a new and exciting event for Tatton, the first St George's Weekend, celebrating all that is historic and traditional at this much-loved country estate.

There will be fabulous activities in all attractions across the Park and the staff have already thrown themselves into the spirit of the weekend. Brendan Flanagan, General Manager commented "this is a great addition to our events calendar, capturing the spirit of traditional and medieval pastimes right across Tatton".

The Old Hall, the stunning medieval manor house in Tatton's grounds, will be transformed into a medieval pageant. Noble knights in armour will greet our visitors and there will be the opportunity to try on armour and to have a go at hitting the dragon targets in the archery area. Traditional English country food and drink from Ken the Pie Man and Brother Martin (the Drunken Monk) will whet all appetites. Prepare to be enthralled by the unique performance of the Tatton 'Mummers' play. And for this weekend only, historic buses will provide free transport from the car park to the Old Hall.

St George, the Court Jester and Merlin himself will be weaving magical tales in the Gardens. Damsels and knights of all ages can listen to enchanting tales and legends against the beautiful backdrop of Tatton's gardens. The Jester might even be juggling a ball or three! Younger visitors can also take part in a quiz to search for the grisly ingredients to make a spine-chilling spell in Merlin's Magical Cauldron'.

The Farm becomes the 'Dragon's Lair'. Will our little visitors be brave enough to follow the dragon footprints through the farmyard or to face the Fortune Teller? There will also be traditional, English country games and a chance to see all the Farm favourites, including the adorable new spring lambs.

At the Mansion we celebrate the history and heraldry of the Egerton family. Our younger visitors will be able to make their own family crest and follow a fun quiz through the staterooms.

There is much more in the Stableyard and Playground too! Marvel at the Morris and Maypole Dancers and be amazed by the Punch and Judy Show. Take a leisurely break from the activities in the shops and restaurant and enjoy fantastic English food, gifts and St George's themed products.

There is much to leave you spellbound on St George's Weekend at Tatton Park.
