Tatton Pin-Ups for 2009!
Home to maples and mazes, pineries and plant pots, the historic gardens at Tatton Park are amongst the most photographed in the North West, and provide annual inspiration for thousands of professional and budding photographers.
Some of the best of these images have now been captured in a special Tatton Park Gardens Calendar 2009, marking the close of Tatton's 2008 photographic competition, 'What's Your View?'

Launched at the beginning of Cheshire's Year of Gardens '08, this competition aimed to capture the beauty and variety of Tatton's gardens, as seen through the eyes of its visitors. The competition encouraged a wide range of people familiar and new to Tatton to get snap-happy in the gardens. Images were received from all over the UK and even, from the US, following an entrant's summer visit.

Husband and wife team Anthony and Silvia Wray are two of our summer pin-ups! Anthony's stunning 'Petal Fall near the Japanese Garden' has been selected to represent June and Silvia's 'Lavender Balustrade' captures the essence of July in Tatton's gardens. Both share an Arts background and a re-energised interest in photography following the 'digital revolution'.
Silvia and Anthony commented "Winning a photographic competition is great fun, but, jointly winning Tatton's Photographic Competition is even better .. knowing that two of our images will be in next year's calendar is wonderful and a shared pleasure. Now we have even more incentive to return and make more photos of its beautiful grounds".

They have found much to inspire them in Tatton's beautifully landscaped grounds "Tatton is a beautiful location for photographers, it is captivating throughout all the seasons. We know, because we've enjoyed its many attractions in all kinds of conditions!"

This is the first time that Tatton's gardens have been photographed for a dedicated calendar. Sam Youd, Tatton's Gardens Manager commented "it is very appropriate that we chose this special Year of Gardens in which to launch this competition. The calendar provides a legacy of beautiful images documenting Tatton's gardens in 2008, which is, in itself, a true living history."
Tatton Park Gardens Calendar 2009 would make an ideal Christmas Gift and is now on sale in the Garden and Gift Shop at Tatton Park.
