Unlocking the Secrets of Tatton's Gardens
Lost your heart in Tatton's gardens? Ever wanted to discover what's behind a locked garden gate or to learn the secrets of caring for this historic estate? The opportunity could now be yours, as Tatton opens it doors for an exclusive 'Your Secret Garden' experience. This personally tailored package will enable an individual or couple to experience a day in the life of the gardens with a Tatton Gardener. Sam Youd, Gardens Manager commented 'the gardeners are the backbone of this beautiful estate and this gives people the opportunity to learn from them and to really explore our gardens'. Commencing with a private tour, including visits to areas not often seen by the general public (such as the famous Japanese Garden, recently restored Pineapple House and Orchid House), guests will be able to learn about and try out a number of traditional skills employed at Tatton to help maintain its 200 year old gardens. The gardens provide the perfect environment to practice some more unusual and therapeutic techniques to help the gardener unwind - the tour will also include an opportunity to practice a few of them! The tour will be followed by a two course lunch with the gardener in the Stables Restaurant and an ideal opportunity to ask practical gardening advice. The afternoon can be spent at leisure in the estate, as our guest for the rest of the day. Visit Tatton's Mansion or Farm, explore the Gardens again at your own pace or simply enjoy the beautiful 1,000 acres of deer park. The package includes a free Gardens Guide, a Tatton rose, and perhaps most importantly, a pass allowing free Garden entry for two people, for the next six months.
